Walsh Bay Ensuite & Bathroom Renovation

Two wet areas renovated to a consistent, high-end finish. The main bathroom and powder room were both stripped back and rebuilt with coordinated materials, fixtures, and finishes throughout.

Key Features

  • Curved stone benchtops and bath surround
  • Custom joinery with curved steel frame detail
  • Seamless Forcrete microcement walls and floors
  • Mood lighting and heated towel rails
  • Curved glazing and mirrored shaving cabinets
  • Floor-to-ceiling feature tile wall
  • Vessel basins paired with brushed brass fixtures
  • New solid timber doors and fresh paint throughout

The Brief

The homeowner wanted both wet areas brought up to the same standard with a material palette that carried through both rooms. The existing bathrooms were dated and no longer matched the rest of the home. The design called for curved forms, warm textures, and a finish level that felt considered without being over the top. Brooke Aitken Design developed the concept, and Feature Built was brought on to deliver it.

The Build

Both rooms were stripped back to the frame. Forcrete microcement was applied across all wall and floor surfaces to create a seamless base, with a floor-to-ceiling tile wall as the central feature in each room. Curved stone benchtops and the bath surround were templated on site and custom cut. Joinery was built with curved steel frame detail, and brushed brass fixtures, heated towel rails, and mood lighting were installed throughout.

The Result

Two bathrooms that feel like they were designed together from the start. The curved stone, microcement, and brushed brass create a consistent feel across both rooms without making them look identical. The ensuite is built around the freestanding bath and double vanity. The bathroom carries the same palette in a tighter footprint. Everything is finished to the level the design called for.
